Augmin Candelabra in Oat

The Augmin Candelabra in Oat by sculptor and designer Abid Javed is a three-arm ceramic taper candlestick holder with a textured finish. Augmin was derived from one of  Abid's initial sculpture designs inspired by ciliate forms within tissues. The candelabra was hand-built, using the pinch, coil, and slab methods. 

With a background in Molecular Biology, Abid works in a range of scale and clay bodies, carefully crafting each piece to bring a biological narrative or an idea to the forefront - emphasis being on form and materiality. He incorporates a strong interplay between form, color, texture and spaces into each of his designs. Therefore, each piece is a labour of love to transform living spaces.
