Gray Twin

Gray Twin is a one-of-a-kind ceramic sculptural vessel by Lex Pavone. Hand built from coils, the character-driven piece of art was made with high grog, stoneware clay, and finished with a shimmer wash and a glazed interior. Lex, who works under the moniker La Viva Verde, imbues her work with an ethereal grace seen in every nuanced face her hands form. 

Inspired by ancient art, La Viva Verde's trademark design features anthropomorphic vessels with human faces of different decoration and style. Each piece is hand-built and every face hand-sculpted and unique. This process allows creation to slow down, bringing intention into every level of the design process. Although La Viva Verde's ceramic works are elaborate, they are meant to be used in everyday life. Lex hopes her art pieces and their use will inspire ritual - a time to focus on the now and how sacred each moment is.
